Quick Wins
I have dozens of examples of other projects from my body of work. Displaying them all would quickly overwhelm the portfolio. Here are a few curated examples of engaging UX projects that showcase my adaptability and problem-solving abilities. These projects are diverse in scope, scale, subject, industry, and complexity.
I would be happy to show you the full original documents for any of these and discuss the projects in detail.
LAWA Subpoena Tracking App
This project involved creating a tracking system for the legal department of a major metropolitan airport authority to monitor the status of subpoenas in active cases. The initial application was not well-received, as it resembled a dull spreadsheet. I was tasked with redesigning the UI within eight hours. By implementing a color-coded, card-based design, the development team found it easy to execute, and the client loved the polished look and feel.
State of HI Legislative AI
This was a challenging interaction design project for the State of Hawaii. Quisitive was tasked with developing an AI research tool for helping legislative support staff analyze a staggering array of media - video, media stories, legislator notes, transcripts, proposed bills, and active and historical legislation - and make it all responsive. My UI design made this overwhelming task manageable while keeping the AI toolbox handy and the media library organized and accessible.
CFSA Applicant Portal
CFSA is a nonprofit that provides subsidies to low-income caregivers for at-risk children that had very high accessibility needs. Their existing site was so complicated and confusing that their recipients simply avoided it. I designed a friendly, easy-to-understand application and annual renewal process that was WCAG AAA compliant.
HFSC eDiscovery UX Analysis
This is an example of a user process I created for Houston Forensic Science Center to help them manage and deploy their findings to their public stakeholders in the legal and criminal justice system. I included it as an example of pure user research coupled with process analysis and design. I studied both the end consumers and the internal users that handled the data to develop a series of user processes to guide the development team.
ATL311 Chatbot
In this project, I was tasked with creating an experimental UX design for using a custom Copilot AI to manage public inquiries to the City of Atlanta 311 system. This was a radically simplified UX from the client-proposed method that proposed that the AI mimic an IVR system.
Spectra PRISM Certification Portal
Spectra handles MSP certification for the insurance industry. Getting certified is a challenging and time consuming process. My interaction design for the portal made certification, application, and long-term account management easy to understand and user-friendly. This is my annotated user interaction design for certifiers managing certification accounts.
MyBenefitsChannel
In this project for a HR benefits management application, I was tasked with merging two separately-developed applications into a single webapp. Extensive user research and testing and an iterative design process yielded a very detailed user experience and interaction design that received gushing praise from both the client and their customers.
