OrthoFix

UX research, interaction and visual design, and gamification for a Catapult Systems client
Overview
Orthofix specializes in orthopedic therapy devices controlled by a native app named STIM onTrack. I had the good fortune to handle testing, analysis, and design of the user experience for this app.

The customer wanted a tool that would be intuitive to use by even the lowest of low functioning users, but still provide real, usable data for more tech-forward users. They also wanted a layer of gamification to help encourage the users to stick with their therapy regimen.

After some lean user research, heuristic and traffic analysis, and extensive iterative collaboration with the Orthofix team, we developed a design that received overwhelmingly positive feedback from patients and actively improved their therapy completion rates.
Results
- 21% increase in patient therapy completion rate with the new app
- Enthusiastic positive feedback from patients and end users
- Client called it "a delight to use"
